Although I have an HD ready digital television set I receive my viewings via Sky Freesat. Could anyone advise if I am able to obtain a DVD and Hard drive recorder (other than Sky +) that will allow me to record via my satelite receiver,or alternatively replacing my Sky box.
NB. Other than using my satelite receiver, I cannot as yet pick up a digital signal in my area.

Yes.

Any recorder (DVD, Hard drive, or even olde worlde video) will enable you to record SKY programs from your current sky box

Though you will only be able to record the same channel as you are watching and you will have to set all the timers yourself (and turn on the sky box auto power off in the options)
Apologies, the FreeSat recorder I linked to is for the BBC& ITV FreeSat, not Sky FreeSat.

hi I also have same HD ready tv plus sky box and satelite receiver If I buy a dvd recorder will I not be able to record one channel while watching another? If not what do I need to do? I am a bit dumb on techo things sorry!
