Hot Pot Spuds. Please help.

When making a hotpot and you have sliced potatoes instead of mash on top of the stew, do I part boil the spuds first, fully boil the spuds first or slice them raw.

LOL Sachs.. nope... and that was even the committed carnivores on Christmas Day getting offered my nut roast ! They actually had thirds and were gobbling it up cold....
So we're all invited round then Juggler! I have a vegan friend I could bring too! :0)
lol Sachs... my nut roast is also suitable for vegans...(as is most of my food, just ignore the cheesy bits...lol)
