Well what can I say? I have just finished watching the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, perfection, perfection, in everyway. That is of course, all but for the London takeover debacle.

If that was a true representation of London, then we have slipped further into the abyss than I imagined. It illustrated, how badly dressed we have become, Litter Louts, graffiti artists etc, etc.

And what about the musical content, a ex X factor winner, and some ageing rock star, twanging on his guitar. And the spectacle of some Blue Peter winner, walking all over us to board the bus, was significant to say the least.

To top this all so embarrassing spectacle off, we saw an over the hill soccer star, feebly kick a ball a few hundred yards, it should have reached the stadium seating area.

Thank goodness the Chinese managed to wipe this embarrassment from my mind, by producing a brilliant finale performed by Placido Domingo and a Chinese Opera singer wearing a beautiful gown, They were backed by a Chinese girl's choir, also impeccably dressed.

Anybody seen China's 8 minutes from the end of the 2004 games, that was hardly stunning either, in fact a lot less impressive and hardly original (fully of Chinese cliche). Sydney's effort was equally naff with a load of blokes riding round with inflatable Kangaroos on their backs and then some aboriginal dancing.

If you think huge posturing by the Chinese government to impress the world (along with dubbed singing, using pretty girls instead of the real singer and fake fireworks) is the way to waste countless billions on a sporting event then you can pay for it.

The London 2012 8 minutes was for the rest of the world not us, we are not in the slightest bit impressed with Beckham kicking a ball into a group of Chinese people but sadly for them the rest of the world are.

Quinlad, I actually have a copy of this rulebook. It has a whole chapter on Morris dancing. The Chinese of course used Zhang Yimou, the director of films such as Raise the Red Lantern and House of Flying Daggers, to stage the ceremonies. I wonder if we could get that chap who did Confessions of a Driving Instructor for ours?

Eh! Thomas, why are you so rude, nasty, and obnoxius?

Can't you just disagree with me, but in a more polite way, or is it all down to your upbringing?

If this is the case then perhaps I should forgive you, because then it becomes obvious, that you know no better.
