For fellow nature lovers.

Came back after shopping just now to find my swallows nest empty. One dead baby with an injury lying on the ground and one live baby (not looking very healthy) which I put back in the nest. The parents are quite distressed. Methinks our Jay has been busy.

Just had to tell somebody. I'm so sad.

I think what happened on Spring Watch was actually what happened to my swallows. None of the chicks were eaten, just injured and thrown out of the nest.

The Swallows (perhaps the same female and her new lover!!) have built another nest elsewhere in the porch and are preparing for their second brood.

Pickle, as someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, I sincerely hope things are getting better for you. xxxxxx
