Just got new lenses and they are great for closer work. I don't need my reading glasses any longer. How do they actually work?

There are different sorts.

Some have concentric circles of lens with different focal lengths. Therefore depending upon where you look you can see distance or close and you get used to moving your eyes/head around so that you are looking through the right part of the lens.

Others have reading in the middle and distance outside as when you look at the distance your pupil tends to expand. It therefore takes in the part of the lens with focal length for distance.
Thanks!
