last weekend my mother and father went out for a night out and ended up at a party later on.
They continued to drink through the night, when my father turned around and seen my mother snogging another guy right in front of him, my dad went ballistic and broke the guys nose. later that night my parents argued and my mother claimed she cannot remember a thing of it its all a blank, but just before she remembers two guys bringing her drinks, she never thought anything of it as they (my mum and dad) knew the party hosts.
Now its not the kind of thing my mum would do, let alone right in front of my dad, Plus the guy that my dad punched and broke his nose isn't going to press charges , a bit weird dont you think.
So my question is, is it possible she got her drink spiked, and if so how can we find out if it was as it as last Saturday that this happened? my mums and dads relationship is at stake.

The drugs rohypnol and ghb often used for date drugging, are both colourless, odourless and tasteless in a drink. Amnesia kicks in pretty quickly and speech becomes slurred and you become unable to walk properly, and often later become unconcious, or kind of unable to move but can sense what is going on around you. Sometimes what has happened to you whilst you have been drugged will come to you in flashbacks gradually.
At this time, with no possibility of your mother being raped I doubt very much she would be able to get the test that can detect it beyond 3 days.
If they still have the drink that he brought her then maybe you cud get it checked at a lab( it will probadly cost a bit though). But remember alcohol is a toxin, take too much of it and it affects your memory and actions. You did say " They continued to drink through the night".
If somebody wanted to make a cheap move on someone, went through the rigmarole of probably illegally purchasing a drug, illegally administering it and then just snogging the victim, who would aim this at a married woman with her husband there??

It just doesn't seem right. Surely there were single women at the party, no?

If, and I say if anything was illegally administered it was certainly not a date rape drug. The purpose of these are to effectively knock the victim out given the impression she is drunk.

My guess, and please bear in mind I have the greatest legal and detective mind since the literal Sherlock Holmes is split down two avenues.

1) She was given neat alcohol or really strong tasteless vodka, which made her drunk very quickly. And the two guys were just chancers.

2) She had more drink on an empty stomach than she is letting on. Her behaviour, though unsavoury, was simply that of a really drunk woman.
possibility but you did say she was drinking all night, best way not to get caught in these situations keep drink with you, dont get trolleyed. I had two drinks one nights and was parraletic and throwing something wrong there
I agree with bewlay, no-one is going to try and spike the drink of a woman whos obviously going home with someone else anyway.I do beleive they might have made her a stronger drink, but the old date rape drug doesn't wash.I think it was probably as you say out of character, maybe she should watch what she's drinking from now on.
What's her phone number?
Despite all the hype in the papers, drink spiking is practically non-exisitent in this country. But drunkeness through alcohol can creep up on you very quickly - especially with drinks laced with spirits.

I'm sure there are many of us out there who have done things we can't remember the next day - alcohol is a drug after all. Your mum might even have thought, accidentally, that it was your dad she started kissing.

The guy not pressing charges is probably just trying not to make a fuss - which is lucky for your dad.

It's just one of those horrible things that your mum and dad will have to deal with together - I'm sure your dad has had one too many in his youth and hasn't been able to remember what he's been up to - and I hope he remembers this and forgives your mum.

Hope it all works out okay...
I disagree with Bewlay.

A couple of years ago me and my female friend joined our male friend and his mates to watch a big rugby match. There was about 6 or 7 guys - all rugby players so not exactly small and it was obvious we were all together.

My friend had her drink spiked that night. She collapsed on the floor in the middle of the pub, none of us could 'wake her up' while the paramedics were on their way.

Her eyes were rolled back into her head, the paramedic was whacking (really hard!), a metal pen thingy on the back of her hand for any kind of reaction, but there was no reaction at all. They took her to hospital and she was out cold for the next 3/4 hours.

When she woke up, she was paniced and didn't know where the heck she was, I told her what happened and to this day she has no recollection of anything that happened from around an hour prior to her actually collapsing.

Of course, I was petrified as to what was happening to my friend and was going on and on to the paramedics asking what was wrong with her and they said it looked like another case of a drink spike with Rohypnol. I pointed out that it would be senseless for anyone to do this to her as we are clearly no 2 girls alone that can be taken advantage of. The paramedic told me that there was a spate of it happening in my City and it as being done "for a laugh" and that whoever did it was most likely in the crowd of rubber-neckers.

It sounds like your mum is being truthful, dwaty, like I said, my friend has no recollection of an hour or so prior to her collapse.

I hope your dad can believe her and hey can get back on track soon. x
I'm afraid I totally agree with Wardy there. If her drink had been spiked, she would have been "out cold" shortly after, just like what happened to Dakota's friend. Your mum must have just had too much to drink, probably straight alcohol onto an empty stomach, and completely lost her inhibitions. While this is no excuse, it can happen to anyone, even one's mum, apparently!
Hate myself for quoting the Daily Mail (scum paper that it is!) but in a recent study of alleged drink spiking, none of the 'victims' were found to have been drugged:

Alcohol is powerful - and we often forget that... especially after 10 pints...
Are you sure they were not at a swingers get together ?? and your dad didn't want to join in ?? lol
