i stopped at red lights and car from behind hit my car.
insurance company said he is at fault.
my insurance and his insurance are owned by same company.( brother /sister company).
i am fully covered under his insurance.
vissible damage to my car is back bumper.
problem i have last year i was involved in accident,
he was at fault. but he was not insured.
i had my car repaired by honda dealers.
they did a bad paint job on driver side door.
i did complain and they claim to have redone job but it still looks like a very poor paint job 9 months later.
now i am concerned that they will do same bad paint job on my back bumber.
i want insurance comp to pay me for the damage and i want to get my whole car re sprayed.
i am worried my car will look like a miss match of paints otherwise.
how can i get insurance company to just pay me money so i can get job done else were or just sell my car way it is.
am thinking just cut my losses and sell car az it is
my car is 51 plate. honda civic.
please advice me
many thanks

They won't pay for a whole respray. You can ask for payment in lieu of repairs so that you can get the job done elsewhere, but no insurance company will authorise work for something that isn't covered.

your insurance company, may allow you to have your vehicle repaired by a garage of your choice , providing they agree on the costs involved....but they may not allow you reimbursement on HIRE VEHICLE , as you are not taking it to repair, to one of thier so called "APPROVED REPAIRERS" ...check with your insurers, .......
