Fridge-freezer anomaly

My fridge-freezer nas developed a curious fault whereby the freezer achieves the correct temperature but the fridge above it does not, being at a constant 15 degrees C. What's more, because the thermostat is in the fridge part the motor is on all day, making the freezer part colder and colder while the fridge part is not cold enough.
What blockage can there be between the freezer and the fridge preventing the latter from achieving the right temperature?

Hi my fridge freezer did exactly the same thing. Got engineer out felt really bad all he said it needed was to switch off and let defrost. This he did with a hairdrier. Where the fan blows up cold air from the freezer to the fridge had frozen over hence no cold air going to fridge. I suggest you switch off and let defrost see if that works and I am sure it will. certainly same fault as I had. Said caused by door being left open fan on continuous and froze over gap where cold air goes up to fridge. Hope this helps.
Don't feel bad futritcat, I am sure he charged you handsomely!

I have switched of the appliance and left the doors open for over 36 hours and, alas, it makes no difference.
I am mystified as to how the coldth (do you like that word?) gets from the freezer section to the fridge section. There is certainly a slot at the back of the top freezer drawer, just below the ice-trays, through which cold air can exit, but I can see no equivalent entry point in the fridge. So what could be blocked anyway? A question, I hasten to say, for experts in the field and not necessarily for futricat!
Hi sorry it did not work for you as it did for me. You can't see in fridge the slot cold air goes up from freezer. Engineer took out panel inside freezer (all done from inside now he said as not have to move it) and there he showed me on opening fridge door this fan coming on and blowing the cold air to fridge. That is where he showed me this slot frozen over so to do it quickly he defrosted it with hairdryer put panel back and it's perfect now.

Thanks again, frutricat. I'll investigate. But I have little hope because any accumulated ice would have had ample time to melt by now . Ah well, Argos here I come, plus 20 to the local council to collect the remains...
