Why Do Contestants On Tipping Point Always Say They've Had A Lovely Day?

Are they told to say thast, or do they really have a lovely time and if so, why?

Because they are put up in a hotel and get catered for...maybe.
They may be under the impression that they've had a day at the seaside topped off by playing the penny falls machine viewed through a giant magnifying glass.

They're just easily pleased.
Everybody says that on a quiz show, surely ....
I guess they are looked after, fed and watered and chat to new people.
However, OH was on a quiz show some years back, and I'm not sure if he would have said it had been lovely day. Quite interesting, but not all that great.
We thought the same thing. But there again, maybe they did have a lovely day and don't mind that they lost.
I suppose if you make it through to the final round and win approximately £3 500 you could say that it was a lovely day!
