As a total novice first time this "summer" I was delighted when my sunflower seeds began to grow and grow, watering them regularly moving the pots around the garden into the best sunspots and tying them to ever taller canes to support them. They are now almost 7ft tall but alas ?NO flowers YET.
Some of the uppermost leaves seem to have been munched by some kind of insect ,but I don't see any ? Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong please?

A lot of plants are flowering late this year, its been a funny year so far, so hopefully theirs still time.
Possibly earwigs munching at the leaves ?
