If you work for a care company as a carer, that has been contracted by social services, visiting able or disabled people at their homes, does the company receive any payments/help, from the Government towards the cost of the above?

I would imagine it was down to the details of the contract between the care company and SS.
The contract between a local authority and a care provider almost certainly simply says that "we, Company A, agree to provide the undermentioned services to you, local authority B, for £X".

i.e. the local authority will have no knowledge of whether a care worker lives next door to the person that they're caring for or 50 miles away from them. It's entirely a matter for company providing the care to work out their budgets (and thus their quote offered to the local authority) based upon their knowledge of the distances that their staff are likely to have to travel.

Sorry I should have added more detail.

The care company that was allocated to me, dosent pay their carers any petrol or give any time allowance.

One of the senior carers, told me that care company's usually receive payments from the Government/Social to help, and is dispersed among the staff for the miles they do.

Somebody has told her, that payments have been made to the company, and when she casualty mentioned the subject to the owner, she was told its delayed due to a new system they are working on.

Would it depend on where you live, or council if you were entitled to this allowance?
trt I am not sure why you would expect us ( the usual suspect Abers) to know anything about care contracts with carers which would be private

it depends on the wording of the contract -and you would have to get a copy

is this Law or CB ? anyway the issue is decided by the terms of the contract - and a travel allowance would be:
A contracts with B for the benefit of the traveller C
This had recently (1999) been the subject of legislation in favour of C

but it would be MUCH beter if C jonied a union which specialises in this sort of thing
From my 10 year old knowledge. Private care companies do not receive any kind of mileage payment from the government or local authority. Any contract is between the local authority and the private care company. its usually based on a cost per year (52 weeks) then broken down to a weekly amount. Its usual for there to be a facility for the authority to have additional hours at a higher cost per hour than the contracted rate which is why its broken down week by week so the authority can't use eg february's hours in january. Unused hours are usually lost to the authority, they can't not pay for them. As you may guess unused hours are like unicorn poo. In some employment, there may be mileage allowance relief which can reduce your tax bill.
