For Toothache.

How do you take it? It just says not to take internally. Dilute 3-5 drops in carrier oil or use in a compress.

Dad suggested putting some on a cotton ball and sitting it beside my tooth...but I'm really unsure.

Suggestions?

It is for topical use......NOT to be imbibed.
Put some on your finger or cotton wool and rub it around the tooth.

Thank you Sqad - much appreciated

Isn't the fact that it's in your mouth , means that you will imbide some of it ?
Bazille....no....you might absorb a little, but imbibing invokes the act of swallowing, which you would not do with Oil of Cloves.......anyway one only needs a small amount of it around the tooth.......it burns.
ok - so it's best to spit for a few times after applying
LOL....I don't think you would have much choice, the burning would activate salivation.
It makes you jump for sure, powerful stuff.

Oh lord! Burning has to be better than pain though!

Called the Dentist this morning - managed to squeeze in with a different dentist next week.
I use it when I was teething my wisdom teeth. easiest way to put it on IMO is with a cotton bud.
Agree a cotton bud and it will make you drool.
used it once, cotton bud is good. found it stings more than burns but either way it's better than an ache.
Question Author
Good job I have a lot of cotton buds then...

Thank you for the suggestions though...wish me luck

It works...but my God is the stuff rank!!
Ooh horrible memories of my head almost hitting the ceiling when I used it as a child. I had no idea it would hurt that much.

I don't blame you Clover...my lips still tingly...but my tooth is painless
Now take some ibuprofen queen, and dab again with the cloves before you go to bed and it might last the night. Sleep well.
I've always found it a must have for toothache but word of warning, my little bottle fell over without me noticing and left a pool of oil that has seeped into and totally destroyed a large patch of my PVC window sill!!
