Today I bought a pack of five plums in the Co op, they were reduced due to today being the sell by date. They were absolutely gorgeous and I'm so surprised, plums these days seem to have lost their plummyness but these were tangy, juicy and perfect. Ive thrown so many away due to the lack of taste and odd texture but I think I'll go back tomorrow and see if they have any these left.

It probably depends where you shop. I find fruit and veg from Tesco and Asda looks good but often lacks taste. Spend a bit more at Waitrose and you taste the extra quality.
There won't be any left tomorrow if today's the sell-by date.
Interesting that both replies have so far come from men. I'd have thought they'd struggle to type one handed whilst clutching their crotch!

I accidentally bought some peaches this week, thinking I had picked up nectarines. For a change I could eat them before they grew even furrier coats and the texture was perfect. Such a shame some beggar nicked all the flavour though :-(

Hoppy, I wouldn't say the Co op is a high end shop, nice as it's food is. I think you're either lucky or unlucky with some foods, I've had dry, rubbish oranges from Waitrose.
Ah yes Jackdaw, but they may have some of the same variety with today's sell by date, or even full price. Worth a look.
I love nectarines rather than peaches, bleurrgh, and they too can be very hit and miss, doesn't matter where you buy them.
