A highly trained specialist surgeon is being forced to leave the UK - after the NHS spent thousands recruiting him - because the Home Office refuses to admit the children that he and his British wife have adopted.

// “And the Home Office’s letter was also astonishing and, frankly, unlawful, because it stated that while it was not their intention to separate the children from the rest of their family, one of the grounds for refusal was that one of the parents could return to the States with the boys and stay in touch with the rest of the family through email and Skype.//

Anyone who has interacted with the UK's immigration system can testify to what a bureaucratic and highly expensive nightmare it is. This is not a unique story.

Should this really be the way our immigration system is designed?

\\After accepting the job in January 2017, Thies agreed to move from Oregon to Britain with his British wife//

\\ She sought advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in America, which, she said, told her that because she wasn’t born in Britain, she couldn’t bring her adopted children into the country with permanent visas.//

His British wife who wasn't born in Britain.

// No system should be open to interpretation, ..... otherwise chaos ensues and the law cannot be applied.// ZM

from the internet "Meanwhile, the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO)'s legal action team confirmed that Indian doctors had lodged an appeal to contest last Friday's legal ruling, which failed to overturn Britain's decision to decree without consultation or warning that work permit-free visas would no longer be issued to non-European Union doctors."
