Yesterday I had to sit for longer than I can with my bad back (facet joint inflamation and slipped discs). Today I am in absolute agony. Lying down doesn't hurt but I can't move- stand, or sit. It's the most pain I've known. I have had 2 paracetamol, 2 co-codamol, 2 ibuprofen and finally tried CBD gel capsule. None have done anything. I am looking at the diazepam and don't want to take it but I feel I need to do something. i can't even get to the toilet. The pain seems to be getting worse. I know "keep pottering" was the advice, but I simply can't move. Any advice gratefully received!

Going through it with you Scarlett. Only today managed to get the pain medication upped and another prescription for diazepam, 5mg this time instead of 2.
For the pain 2 x Co Codamol along with Diclofenac 50mg.

I've seen Venus rise every morning for the last week and hobbled about on crutches to do the most basic things.
The worst is being alone when in pain, even if nobody could do much for you at least it's company.
Be firm with them a NHS, it's not up to them to ration effective drugs when they're needed.

Hope you get what you need soon.
I do feel for both you and Douglas too Scarlett, last time I was that bad I ended up on a similar cocktail plus Tramadol which I never want to hear of again.

Scarlett, I am in no way encouraging you to take more than you have been prescribed but both of your doses are on the low side , my Co-cods are 30/500 and they do work - try to get more help soon love.

After 2 diazepam and 2 co
Codamol I'm in more pain than ever. Can't sit in the loo or even flush it. I'll phone the doc tomorrow morning for advice. Thanks all for the help and sympathy!

My Physio has suggested I ask my doc for morphine injection. Is that a good idea? I slept okay but am still in agony when I try and move
Or walk or stand up. Going to the loo is the biggest challenge. I have the doc phoning me at the end of morning surgery.
Wait until your doc phones and ask his advice.I have arthritis in the lower facet joints and know how painful it can be.
Any news re gp phone call Scarlett?

The gp gave me stronger co
Codamol and more of the same Diazepam.
Can't say either are doing anything to reduce pain.
My Physio wants me to to exercises and tells me to keep moving! I know this is important but it's still agony to do anything other than lie down!

I hope the immediate crisis starts to ease very soon.
I'm so sorry you are in such pain Scarlett - I do hope it improves soon.
Scarlett.......you do not give a very accurate picture of the characteristics of you pain, but following your threads over the years, it looks very much like a sciatic root impingement or similar.
Whatever the treatment and in my opinion you are on the correct regime of drugs, this will last at least 5-6 weeks before easing up....as it certainly will. In the meantime, you are on your own....find the most comfortable position in a chair or in your bed and when you ave found it.....stick to it. There is a critical position out there, somewhere and it may take time to find it.
Good luck.

10Clarionstreet- thanks for your suggestions, I haven't been able to get on my front yet but hope to if the pain subsides a bit. I usually can't go on my front as my knees dislocate so easily, but my Physio has also suggested I do this to try to arch backwards a bit- which is the most painful thing!
I really hope things improve a bit for you .
