Just read that The Generation Game is being revamped hosted by Mel and Sue, I couldn't watch Bake Off because of them and Mel was unwatchable in Light It Shine. Why do they bother revamping old classics there won't be another host as good as Brucie.

I haven't watched that kind of popular TV program for many years. I suspect that there is a lack of imagination by the program makers .
'programme'
I prefer Mel and Sue to Brucie.

I won't watch though.
They probably have to find them something, after they refused to go to C4 with GBBO.

Nothing against those two, but I won't be watching either.
I watched blind date last night and it was dire. So it's not just the BBC who fail, at bringing back 'classics'.
I am wondering if Aunty Beeb thinks we are all thick with the rubbish they keep churning out. On the other Hand I watched The Proms 2017 on BBC4 featuring film music by John Williams, absolutely fantastic,
As I always say...one person's "rubbish" is another person's "must see".
And I like both Mel and Sue....together and apart.
I like Mel and Sue too, Mel did a great job on Pitch Battle for example.

However I have never enjoyed the Generation Game, so I shan't be watching.
I like Mel and Sue as well.
Did you also read that because it is being done by a BBC subsidiary it isn't obliged to reveal their salaries ?
I like Mel and Sue, but have never watched Bake Off or anything else they've done together.

I won't watch The Generation Game. Bad memories of Bruce and the odious Jim Davidson.
Programme makers always believe that there is a new audience for a 'classic format' - and they are wrong more times than they are right.

This idea does not fill me with anticipation - the show was of its time, as so many re-hashes are, but we will see.
Well I for one wont be watching it. I think it had more than run its course when it was on television before.
