Hi I bought this Wok today at a fleamarket and it's by far the nicest WOK I ever saw or used, far nicer than our Le Creuset one which set us back £550, but the only mark it has stamped on it is on the bottom and seems to say RELA- I can find absolutely no trace of this online at all so does any foodie soul know if this might stand for something instead of actually being a make or if it's an acronym, as it seems such fantastic quality that I feel it must have a makers name attached to it somewhere. It's heavy cast iron, twin handles ( again cast not wooden) and is really beautiful Thanks in advance. x

They are what Ken Hom recommends.
...and what Ken Hom markets, no doubt...
He doesn't have a monopoly on woks. You don't have to buy his brand.
LOL, hard when you have to explain yourself isn't it?

Glad you're happy with your new purchase Kval, happy cooking.
danny...you obviously missed the point of my comment.

I'm just amazed, buy whatever wok you want I like my second had £45 one thank you, and will be buying more of their stuff because it's honestly lovely.
No IK got the point but in my Ken Hom book he just recommends a steel wok with no mention of his brand.
That £550 wok look remarkably similar to the £190 woks.
It really has wok all to do with anyone else how someone spends their money!

Have to agree there Eccles my mum isn't much of a bargain hunter ( not like me I like a bargain and a haggle), she earns her money and jolly well spends it on what she likes :)
er ... it was you who freely gave the information, Kvlad.
Good luck in your search for more Relance cookware. I had a Google and it doesn't seem too common here in the UK. Enjoy that wok.
Kval....you have given me a laugh!....

All you wanted was a bit of information on the wok you bought today......and now I imagine the air around you is as blue as your mum's wok with all the comments.....!

Bit like the raised eyebrows I get when I spend £2,000 on a sewing machine...... :-)
How much ?!?!
* thuddddd!!!*
It's a truth well known that many find the spending habits of others endlessly fascinating - I had a friend who was quite obsessed with the topic.

Oooooh I'm always tempted for a nice sewing machine Gness, although I did all my latest costumes on a really cheap Janome, and he did well, didn't cause me any grief at all, and there were a lot of costumes :)

Pasta, I've honestly never seen such a quality pan in my life, miles ahead of Le Creuset ( which was my point in mentioning it Talbot), so yeah big Dutch Ebay hunt for them I reckon :)
Well, the op'er got a bit of a self righteous kicking on this thread :-)
