Ariston Aristella Dishwasher Problem

This machine has a clockwork programmer (thankfully). Last night the machine went through the whole cycle as far as pumping out and drying, there was rinse water still left in it. Now, although it has power (light indicator "on") it will not react at all at any point of the full circle on the programmer. Any suggestions as to what is the matter ? My suspicion would be the door activated switch, any link to how this is arranged would be welcome so I can attack the thing with good intention.

Have you checked if the drain duct or the filter is not blocked?

It was the door lock switch, and I have repaired it - all is now well.
