//If Trump had used a professional campaine manager instead of giving the job to his son, that manager would have had enough sense to avoid a Russian solicitor like the plague!//

He did hire a campaign manager. Paul Manafort.

Who was also at the meeting and copied in to all these e-mails if you look at them - so was Jared Kushner.

Does anyone seriously believe that the three most senior people in Trump's campaign met with a representative from the Russian govt, who was explicitly promising illegally obtained information in order to support his candidacy.... and The Donald knew nothing about it whatsoever?

If Trump loses his son (who has shockingly been allowed to run his businesses as if that completely gets around his dad's vested interests), Kushner and Manafort all at the same time, who does he have left? Pretty much just Bannon and Conway, who are both out to destroy each other.

What a joke. He'll be gone within a year.
Trump is a fool. If they don't get him on this, it will inevitably be something else.

^ exactly , as I said Trump jr ONLY opened his mouth because he knew that The Times was about to publish evidence of his contacts with Russia! If it was not for that we would still be none the wiser!
me thinks '' the boys '' have been watching too many James Bond films maybe someone should inform the Trump administration this is real life ????
Has he gone yet?

//Trump is a fool.//
Well to paraphrase Randy Newman, for the Americans, "He maybe a fool, [he isn't really] but he's our fool, and he's pulling off some spectacular deals for us" - albeit with some rather unpleasant people like the Saudi towel-heads.
Sorry hound-dogs but The Donald ain't going nowhere and certainly not because of this piffle.

Let's make this interesting.

What's your forfeit if he does? :P

Proof of being eager to accept the possibility of help for his campaine from Russia in return for illegally obtained information on a political rival is damning. It matters not a jot if there really was information or if he was 'set up' by the Russians. The undisputed facts are that his son was very happy to go to a meeting with a Russian Lawyer who was promising such information.
It's highly possible that Russia was intending to give Trump information, and then use the fact that it had done so to blackmail him, that is a very well established Russian tactic.
Did my ears deceive me, or was Trump considering a joint effort with the Russians against hacking?!

Manafort of course was Yanukovych's "image consultant" (Yanukovych being Ukraine's erstwhile dictator now being harboured in Russia)

He's doing a helluva good impression of one then. Perhaps publicly criticising and making enemies of both the FBI and CIA is all part of a plan so cunning it's beyond our comprehension....or maybe it's just foolish.

The 71 year old petulant toddler Trump is either stupid or incompetent or as I suspect Both !!!

Luwig; //making enemies of both the FBI and CIA is all part of a plan so cunning it's beyond our comprehension//

Perhaps it is beyond yours but, "Draining the swamp" of the previous administration is exactly what he said he would do, including also exposing the fake news of CNN, The Washington Post the N.Y. Times, and boy, do they squeal! It's because of their life-long paranoia of the word "Russia" which was fed to them as children during the cold war and their desperation to start another to give them something to live for.

If he has gone as you predict, within the year, I'll give £25 to a charity you name, if he is still in office on the 31st of December, you will do likewise.
Before you agree I suggest you read my above link, 00:46 Wed.

I took your advice - I've read through your link. I accept! If he's there on December 31st, I'll give £25 to a charity you name.
