Dubliners Compilation - Help Please

I've been asked to get someone a Dubliners Compilation - "cheap but reasonably comprehensive" would seem to be the brief.

It's well outside my comfort zone in terms of specialist knowledge - I like their music, but haven't paid much attention to them in the past.

The problem is that (when searching Amazon), there are just so many different compilations available - always the case when a band has considerable longevity and several label changes along the way.

I'm very wary of the "recorded live by a bloke with a big beard who used to be in the band for two weeks in 1963" offerings, but even the kosher ones seem to attract very varied reviews according to the degree of authenticity and quality of recordings.

So - some help to find a good 'un please - preferably with a link to the actual disc on Amazon (or elsewhere) since there are eleventy billion CDs called "Dubliners Greatest Best Special History Box" or similar ...

Try and get recordings featuring Ronnie Drew, he was with them for 50 odd years, very distinctive voice.
I've just looked in iTunes and there are 4 or 5 Greatest Hits albums by the Dubliners, all priced at either £5.99 or £6.99, have a look in there.

The album that Talbot has recommended is priced at £9.99 in iTunes, there are many more to choose from as well, good luck.

Not with me they haven't - nor with Talbot.

He was suggesting a quick perusal of youtube to preview the various recordings to identify one to buy - not to download and keep music 'for free'.

Downloading and burning music to CD from youtube is every bit as much theft as limewire was - I didn't do that & I don't steal music from youtube now - it's exactly the same as stealing from a shop, which I don't do either.

Just to be clear - Talbot's comment at 14:05 was deeply sarcastic - not an endorsement of the suggestion that stealing music is acceptable in any way.

I've downloaded in the region of 20.000 tracks from lime wire and the like, I would never have bought the music,, but when it's free. .... I don't bother these days, I have enough!
