I am going away for a couple of months to the Caribbean and America.
I will not be using my phone to make calls or go online.
Do I have to have roaming turned on to receive calls, and will I be charged ?

I'm unsure what you have to agree with your service provider, but if you do receive calls then you would be charged for the transfer from the UK to the Caribbean/Americas, as it would be unfair to put that un the unwitting caller.
