What can I take to alleviate this. I'm not sleeping well with the heat, tossing and turning, sleeping for about half an hour at a time. Also getting horrendous leg cramps most of the night. I have to keep leaping out of bed to press my legs on the floor very hard.
The pain is awful and I can still feel it during the day.
Has anyone any suggestions what I could take?

I've heard that drinking tonic water alleviates the symptoms.
I have heard that magnesium helps
Go to the bar and order a magnesium and tonic, caran:-)
magnesium tablets
//Magnesium is Fast, Easy, Safe and POWERFUL Because it Attacks Leg Cramps from ALL Angles.
This crucial mineral...

Loosens muscles by blocking the effect of calcium, which tightens muscles. As people age, excess calcium collects in the muscles, causing cramps. (Also, beware that calcium supplements, especially with Vitamin D, can cause calcium overload!)
Increases the absorption of potassium, which is critical for proper muscle function.
Decreases pain by blocking pain receptors in the brain and nervous system.
Dampens inflammation in the muscles and the entire body.
Relaxes blood vessels and decreases blood pressure, which restores healthy circulation.
Increases your serotonin, GABA and melatonin, which helps you relax and fall asleep. //

Recovered from anal cancer couple of years ago and have the same trouble so I take 500 MLS of squash/water/pop and drink it when it happens then sleep like a baby
quinine tablets, the ingredient in Tonic water which helps, but having to drink gallons before bed does not promote uninterrupted sleep hence the tabs
Do you take statins Caran ? I used to have this problem, but don't anymore, after I asked my Doctor to reduce my statins from 40mg to 10mg a day

Thanks everyone, sorry for delay, went for shower.
I already take magnesium, calcium and zinc tablets.
I do like tonic so will have a glass of that.
Not on statins. Will see about getting quinine tablets.
Another vote for magnesium...try it as a topical spray and apply when you get a cramp. Also pink Himalayan salt...a bit under the tongue stops cramps in their tracks for me.

MAGNESIUM OIL SPRAY, WORKS IN SECONDS...GOT MINE AT HOLLAND AND BARRATT, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
