I know that the Kelpies sculptures are on a canal, but is this the same canal which is at Falkirk, where that fabulous wheel lift is?

I'd love to go to see both and was wondering if you could take a canal ride to take in both.

Or if you are able, here is a walk.

It's all part of the same complex, horseshoes. You can do it all or just parts.
Tickets for the barge ride on the wheel are available at the visitor centre beside the engineering masterpiece. The ride doesn't last all that long but the experience is well worth it.
The main canal junction is near The Kelpies where longer trips are available.
A good day out.
The wheel lift is a few miles away from the Kelpies and yes you can take a canal ride to see both and it is well worth it.
am sure it is HS xx

the Wheel itself would need you to have a nerve of steel going up/down it :-D
Hah! albafeartie. :)

Thanks all. It sounds great. Must pay a visit. I love canals. We used to live right near one in Cheshire and have many happy memories of swinging on the lock gates, and "helping" people open and close them. Not very 'elf and safety, but hey ho, I'm still here:-) My mum would have had a blue hoolie if she'd known!
It's one of the smoothest things, short of my own chat for the laydeez, that I've ever experienced. :)
All done by shifting some water about.
when you go HS, have a blooming great time, Falkirk is a lovely place x
I only went this year for the first time HS and I'm looking forward to going back again.
aha!! another Ab'er I've missed.
No wonder you lot go incognito ;-)
A great day out. Took the grandchildren 2/3 years ago. Found the ride in the canal boat a bit tedious, but watching it was great. New bits of canal opened since I went (HRH doing teh business today), so canal ride might be more interesting.
Suggest you book.
My dad and his wife did it just the other week and had a brilliant time it is now on my must do list.
