Hello all ! I`m trying to create a simple formula to add up the total of a column of figures (money), in a spreadsheet. I`ve looked at the "simple" guides on the `net, but found them far from simple. I`m using Open Office, and their guide is not clear even when you find the right bit to look at!
All I want to do is add a whole column (which I`ve done several times with calculator) but end up with several answers!

Please Help.

In the cell in which you want the answer, enter =SUM(A1:A14) where A1 and A14 are the cells containing the first and last items in the list.

Thanks sunny-dave, succinctly put! Though you could have mentioned pushing the green tick!
I did manage to get the total right manually though 3 times out of 5.
Thanks also to murreymints!
