Is The Tide Now Turning Favourably For Donald Trump?
Only the seriously deranged still believe that there was any tampering by Russia with the election results, - all these months and not a scrap of evidence. The Supreme Court has now overturned the ban on his preventing his free entry of Muslims from certain countries and he has shown his authority by not having a White House dinner to celebrate the end of Ramadan, - and why should he?

All that normally results in, is the person you're talking about doing the same - and then it gets into a childish slanging match.
This happens all the time on AB. Why not join me in stopping it, and talking about the subject, rather than having a pop?
What you wrote at 21:11 is nothing about Trump or what he has or has not achieved. It's about me. A better tack would be to prove me wrong by listing what you think he has got right and detailing his positive contributions.

Nevertheless, SP and Eddie continue to wheel out that which has been well and truly done to death. SP declares that, “he [Trump] is perpetually desperate for approval’, but that is not borne out by the fact that a lesser man, in the face of the plethora of worldwide criticism that he has endured since before he took office, would have capitulated long ago. Do give it up, chaps. It’s making you look awfully bitter and twisted. Trump is president of the US. Get – as ‘they’ say – used to it.

Does that not include Donald Trump, then, who tweeted recently that "Obama did nothing after being informed ... about Russian meddling [in the election]"?
The accusation that's trickier to prove is one of collaboration between Trump's team and Russian "meddlers", and I suspect that it will stay that way because honestly I don't believe it anyway. There are plenty of links between Russian officials and Trump's campaign team members but I doubt any of them are really that shady.
But no -- even Trump appears to accept that there was Russian interference in the election, and has only been pointedly making the case that he had nothing to do with it. On that, I believe him.

I think it's perfectly fine to post critical statements about Trump, in the same way that it's perfectly fine to post critical statements about Sadiq Khan, Theresa May, Jeremy Corbyn and Tony Blair.
Khandro - the lobbying ban will have no impact on former POTUS' ability to make money giving speeches.
I suspect that the $400,000 for Obama is a reflection that he didn't follow through with clamping down on the excesses of Wall Street. And he should - seeing as the financial crisis he inherited was engineered by the greed and insane decisions taken by Wall Street (toxic loans for example).

Are we allowed to only comment on his performance as the President, or can we not discuss his personal failings too - like with any other politician?

Well, surely that's a perspective thing. If someone posts a thread supporting Trump, the only way it will progress is for responders to post comments either supporting or attacking the position.
It doesn't really matter what people think of the responders themselves.
A better way to attack my argument is to do what Khandro has done and post rebuttals.

Haha, Trump has been under the cosh of the (not so) libz from day 1. As he makes steady progress the panic amongst them is palpable. They are finding it uncomfortable out of the rapidly diminishing swamp but have found another "voice of reason" to reinforce their prejudices, in the supreme voice of liberalism....Kim Jong-un.

One thing I have learned is that US politics, seen through the prism of our media, look very different from the other side of the pond. Clinton v Trump a good example. He was derided here, just as Ford, Carter, Reagan and Bush jnr were, but they were taken seriously there just as the Trump campaign was. The facts are the same but the feel is different.
One enormous advantage of Donald Trump being president is that it has meant Hillary isn't - presumably to the chagrin of sp and jim- There’s a lot to be said for avoiding the misrule of a corrupt, incompetent, malevolent monster like Hillary. Maybe that’s why despite all the complaints about Trump from the Left, polling shows Hillary Clinton would lose again if she went head-to-head with Donald Trump.
