What's A Girl To Do

I am finally having a guy round to my house tomorrow to do all sorts of work to my house after the flood.

to bore you

rip up carpet and laminate back bedroom
rip up stair carpet
I will wash stairs etc
then landing, stairs and hall to be re-vamped etc to be painted from varnish to snow white paint. I hope

However I am still with the hole in kitchen ceiling - my neighbour (who has been brilliant to me over the years) has been promising to come over and fill the hole in and hasn't

This guy who is coming tomorrow can also plaster ie handyman - when neighbour heard he said "no way hosay - I will fix it" tomorrow - errrr - that was last week - he has told me he will fix it on Monday and I haven't heard anything tonight.

Gawd - what am i going to do - don't want to hurt him in a million ways - yet this guy can fix it.

What should I do - can't sleep over it - can't afford to lose my neighbour's friendship

Ummmm- I didn't go insane - you must have misread - was talking about neighbour

Tuvok - that's what I will do - because the handyman will be a here a good part of the week if not more - that will depend what I decide to do ie - maybe start decorating the living room and dining room.

Just stop fussing and pay someone to get it done - then the 'girl' can get on with her jobs!!

Don't fret JJ. It will all work itself out, get as much work done as you wish to you're house will look fabulous when it's finished :-)

Your neighbour can't keep going insane and then repeatedly not turn up to do the hole. Get your man to do it while he is doing the other work.

Guess what - he is Polish. Meticulous worker - think he will be with me for a cuppla weeks deffo.

I'm not going to ask how you employed a tradesman without knowing his nationality. Surely he visited and assessed what needed doing?

Oh yes - he had an appointment with me last Thursday - I did know he was Polish then but instinctively I knew I was on a winner - as he looked at the hole in the ceiling. He just looked up and said "oh you know I can fix that" of course am still waiting for the neighbour. That's another story.

Anyway I did get him on gumtree and when I saw what he was capable of (handyman) - he has lived up to his word after shifting quite heavy furniture out of my bedroom on his own. Floor down and all and tomorrow I will get silicone and trim for him to finish it off.

Then he is going to paint and decorate and then remove bushes from my garden - he is going to be one busy man and a man I feel comfortable with. He is so lovely and mannerly. I just love manners.
