I paid for an item on 1 June and I still haven't received it. I contacted seller who said it is now in Southport and has been there from 8 June - they are "still dispatching" it.

Can anybody tell me how can this possibly happen - that it takes 13 days or maybe more to get delivered.

Well as it has not yet been dispatched it can't be delivered can it?

What was the despatch and delivery time given where you bought it from?
Ask them for the tracking code then track it on the Royal Mail web site.
If it's from China JJ it can take weeks, is it from amazon ?
^^ JJ says it is in Southport (that's not in China!)
It's Not all packages that can be tracked and only those being delivered by Royal Mail can be tracked on the Royal Mail Site. Others, that are trackable, appear on individual Carriers sites.

I recall buying a very cheap fountain pen through Amazon and carelessly didn't note that it was being delivered from China. It took over three weeks to be delivered and proved to be a useless item. As it cost about £2 it wasn't worth the trouble of complaining; although I could have to Amzazon.

Hans.
Southport isn't in China ? Awe :-(
