It is a pretty nasty thing to happen - there appears to be no history between the pensioners or the young thugs. Or a riot in the supermarket because there is no more Galaxy chocolate.

I do hope that they are caught but am not sure what they will be charged with. If sent to prison they will not be locked up long enough.

Utterly despicable, from bits I picked up on the audio it sounded personal to some.

i don't know, i worry about how many youths are killing one another with knives and guns, the stats are appalling. We had a local raid by gangs on mopeds, the new gang related craze it would seem, just in our local shopping mall, one man stabbed whilst shoppers, tourists looked on, we are going to hell in a handcart.

There is no excuse for that behaviour but no doubt there is the other side of the story which we dont get to see.

I know we get slated for saying this but it is not a new phenomenon - the Bowling Green opposite me had to have similar spiked metal fences up largely to prevent vandalism I know but that was 20 years ago.

Certain things are on the increase I grant you as is the reporting of them..

Eleena - I did say no excuse but I can imagine there was a trigger point - unlikely that a group of teenagers just decide one day to attack the bowls club. Older people can be obnoxious too.

If I hadn't seen this with my own eyes, I am not sure if I would have believed it possible. What kind of upbringing have those boys had ?

Lets hope the Police catch them quickly....plenty of good video footage.

Again - no excuse but we can only see one part of this story.
When the question is 'what the hell is happening' it portrays a much more serious issue than what looks like a local spat that got out way out of hand.
