Can't Change My Email In Amazon.....

I want to change my email address in Amazon but it won't let me, it'll allow me to change everything else bar email.
I've tried contacting Amazon but without any luck.
My old address was with Orange but they are no longer available, any ideas how to go about it, thanks for any help.

good luck..if you have info about recent purchases it will help with authentication..please let us know the outcome...x

that may be the quickest route..normally they will call you back, I have always found them very helpful
how odd...never had that kind of response..call back ask for customer services manager
Although it's a pain I'd call again and insist on an assistant who knows what they're doing. I have definitely changed my email with Amazon but I did it over the phone. The start a new account answer is rubbish

Murray, I can log in and view whats in my basket, I can make changes to my basket but as soon as I try to check out, pay etc, it asks me to verify my account for security purposes, it then shows my old email address, password and an empty box, I click on that and then it tells me it has sent a code to my email address which I need to enter into the empty box, and thats it!!!

go to help at footer ...on left column click need more help..go to contact us..select prime and more..go to update accounts info at 1..change e mail at 2.. then scroll down and select either phone or chat at 3....

Just tried that Murray, got as far as contact us and then the dreaded empty box appeared asking my to verify security code!!
oh dear a call back to customer services ..ask for supervisor or manager
I was wondering, when you open the page MM is on about, if you lok at all options there is the 'Other Accounts' menu, if you look at it you can log in with Amazon, that way I don't think you need your email address, I know when I get locked out of my emaiil account it might suggest log in with facebook or whatever, I think it's silly they dont have other options to sign in

Just called them again and they are going to get one of their accounts team to call me back at 9am, heres hoping it'll gert sorted but I'm not holding my breath!!

Update ........ terrible customer service from Amazon, I was told that their security team would call me after 9am yesterday, 24 hours later still not heard a thing, now i'm going to phone them again, watch this space!!
not good, never have experieced that with AMAZON...point out that you are a good customer and expect better form !!

At last lol, Amazon security have managed to change my email address, now I'm up and running again, thanks for all of your help, much appreciated.
