Clothes To Take On A First Time Cruise

I am thinking of taking my first cruise (alone and 73 year old female) but I would like to buy new clothes that I can wear afterwards, what type of clothes would I need, the cruise is to Spain then on to Portugal and the caribbean, any help would be most helpful form either male or female.

Warning: some cruise passengers are thieves. Some women travellers specialise in stealing new clothes bought specially by people just like you. Take great care never to leave your cabin/stateroom door open if you are not in it. And always take the receipts with you so you can prove the garments are yours.
