I've written a sterling cheque and the person recieving the payment is paying it into a euro bank account. I have been informed by my bank that the only way to process this cheque is by sending a SWIFT payment which costs 20.

In the future I will need to do this again and on a regular basis - is there any way of sending sterling money to a euro account without me being charged for the transaction?

Don't know of one.

You should be able to buy a euro cheque for a bit less than 20 depending on the bank (try Thomas Cook as well) but I don't think you'll get the charge below 10.

If your recipient has a pay pal account it can be cheaper to do it that way.
