Intake Of Breadth / Stretch

Just felt a need to have a good stretch , while sitting in my chair .

Sometimes , I will take a sharp intake of breadth .

We all do the above , so i was wondering , is there a reason for it from a medical aspect .

When food goes down the wrong 'hole' the body immediately reacts , by scooping it back up , hence the spluttering and coughing - given that it is not good for food and drink to enter the lungs .

So is the body doing something that is required , by stretching and taking a sharp intake of breadth ?

The intake of breath will be the same as a yawn - a need for extra oxygen.
Listen to the ghost he knows what he's on about... taking a deep breath also helps with cramp providing oxygen to the in need muscle.
yeah you need to sigh every now and then

possibly to redistribute the surfactant that keeps all the liddle alveoli open ( under standard physical principles the smallest should empty into the largest)

for patients on ventilators in hospital - some machines have it built in
