Who Remembers The Phrase Itchy Chin?

This was something I used to hear all the time in the school playground around the mid-eighties, but I don't think I've heard it at all since. "Itchy chin", accompanied by chin-scratching gesture, meant 'I don't believe you.'

It's listed on that terribly-reliable (ahem) source of information, Urban Dictionary, so I know it wasn't just a local thing.

But why was it such a popular phrase for just a couple of years, before pretty much disappearing?

Yes, I remember it.
The children used to say it.
I remember that too, in the 80s. If you were to do it now young'ns would think you were a bit mad. We used to say 'Jimmy Hill' too.
lol, i swear i remember this being a thing that my sister and i used to do when we were very young but in the 90's
lol that's probally why we weren't ever in the cool gang lol

No kids be itchin their chins anymore. All went too PC and you will affect or cause underlying mental health issues. Man, I think I just itched mine red raw. Bring back itchy chin... I wish, kids just Google the conk these days
