Icannot access Sub Titles when viewing programmes though the BbC IPlayer is fine, The hub says this function is unadvailable, I tried to access the hub on a another smaller TV in "MY"? small room but in this case could not get the Hub App though once again the IPlayer was and subtititles worked. Tried to find the Hub App but no joy and this was a Panasonic TX 24DS500B. Thanks for any help.

Whilst I don't think I can help, I wish to say that I didn't follow the issue particularly well.

ITV Hub is ITV's awkward catch-up app. I'm unsure how that fits with BBC's iPlayer which is fir BBC programmes.

I take it the TV is a smart one if it uses apps. And it connects ok to your router.

Does ITV Hub offer subtitles ? Have you logged into ITV Hub ?

I think that if you clarify, someone else may be able to help.

Yes both TV's re Smart ones and both logged into the roster. On both TV's I can acces the IPlayer easily and any programme viewed sub-titles are advailable. However the IIVHub is only accessible on the mainTV but cannot get sub-titles on any views programme. The other TV Icannot get th Hub App for some reason. Hope this clarifies the question better.
You should get subtitles on most programmes on the ITV hub:

Have it tried it on different programmes?
I have just tried for you on my tv and d/loaded the Palladium for a few minutes.

I couldn't see any instructions, or a button for s/titles, and they never came up when I used the remote.
The subtitles are there for the Palladium on my pc.
As your tv is a smart tv, you may be able to play the ITV hub with subtitles on your pc via Edge and 'cast' it to your tv.

I thought the Q was for subtitles for the hub on TV, HC?
Indeed it is, trt, but if all else fails she should be able to 'cast' the programme from her pc to tv, complete with subtitles. It certainly works with my Panasonic tv.
No wish to derail BJSs thread, which unfortunately I can't answer, but hc mentioned casting. When I bought my Google pixel tablet I also bought a Chromecast to cast to my Samsung TV. Tried it first at my woman's place and it seemed to work to her TV (after I used an extension lead to stop the Chromecast from bring too near the TV). Took it home and it wouldn't work because it was forever looking for her WiFi instead of finding mine. Could never use it as couldn't find out how to stop it looking for the one it knew and ignoring those local to it. Any ideas how to kick start it ?
OG, there is a teeny tiny button next to the USB port on the dongle. Hold that down for at least 25 seconds at it will restore the dongle to factory settings - as it was when you bought it. That should do it
I think we need to separate the 'can't get the hub app' problem from the 'got app but no subtitles' one, and solve each separately.

The ITV link states subtitles are only available for some programmes. Maybe the ones you want are those they can't supply subtitles for yet. Is there an 'S' symbol bottom right ? Are you sure there are never subtitles no matter which programme you try ?
Cheers. I'll try that when I get back later in the week.
I can't get the subtiles on ITV Hub on my Panasonic tv, either.
Apologies again BJS Hope you found a way around the subtitle problem.

hc, I get back home, re-read those instructions, then see an issue.
The first instruction is to ensure the Chromecast is on the same WiFi as the tablet. But the Chromecast issue is that it is on my woman's WiFi and I'm now at hope. Whoops. But it seems problematic anyway as it seems to suggest the WiFi to be used has to be available in the same location as the WiFi it is already on; which can't happen.

Found the small button (hard to spot ain't it) and will try that in a while.
