For the past month or more, it seems I am throwing away more than they eat. Whiskas...Felix...Gocat...tiny tins of whatever. There are separate dishes, and I only put a bit in each. But I still end up cleaning most of it out of the dish. And they sit there pleading for more. They also get dry...James Welbeloved is their favourite...for now.

My old cat loved sardines or tuna, you could try that Pasta
Cats are here to make us suffer!! My cats go off their meat at this time of year! As they also have dried food I let them get on with it. !!! Well apart from the odd chicken I cook for them!!

I just put down some cooked chicken. One eats it happily...but the super noisey one?...no luck
Maybe I should try that cat "soup"...
They are indoor cats, so I can't even send them out to get their own.
Do they get enough exercise to build up an appetite?
Why don't they go out?
They do it because they are cats and that is what cats do!

@ danny and margo...re hoing out...one is deaf, the other has always chosen not to.
They get a fair amount of exercise...usually the big deaf bully chasing the small defenceless female.
I don't know much about cats but I have had a few dogs and I always took the view that if they were hungry they would eat so I never really got too anxious if sometimes they were off their food.

Dogs are far more restrained than cats. They won't sniff the offerings, look at you with disdain, and then shout that they are starving.
Fair enough Pasta. Gladys used to go off her food periodically - just keep on the dried stuff for now then, do they drink enough?
Hiya Pasta, sadly I don't have my beloved mogs anymore.. but If I couldn't get them to eat.. I used to defrost a few frozen prawns..in the microwave for them.. usually a once a week or so treat..lol they used to rip my arm off once the microwave was on..lol of course don't forget..Cats are kindly masters...as long as you remember who's boss..lol and they think its hilarious watching you.. striving to find what it is THEY want..lol bless have a ncie weekend Mrs C x

The heat is putting my two off their food. Frankie has been barfing up, but that isn't really unusual as he eats like a starved Labrador.

They both turned down some tinned Tuna last night.

I got some Vet's Kitchen food - 80% meat and mixed it with their nice diet dried food which has some Dreamies in it to entice. That is getting eaten only as a last resort.

If I manage to get out tomorrow I might get some Roast Beef for them.

Mrs C...yes, that horrible inscrutable gaze as they close their eyes to mear slits.
Wolf...you should send those 2 out to do the shopping.
As for water, there is *almost* always water for them and the dog...they shout very loudly if there isn't.

well your dogs may not......
Ours love prawns. Our vet also suggested making prawn ice cubes to encourage them to drink - put prawns in the ice cube trays , fill with water and freeze. Once they have defrosted the water tastes of prawns so the cats will drink it and eat the prawns.

@woof....haha! Actually Sally doesnt shout, but she will back away like theres a bad smell in the room. Since when is a dog offended by smell??
Not eating out are they ?
I can't even entice neighbours cat to a few dreamies these past few days, she's not having anything, must be the weather, she used to leap on my kitchen windowsill begging and almost open the door to get in for the pouch of goodies, I'm having a rest from her :)
