ONE = I, OK, but do not see wordplay
Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Essex (ONE)
My suggestion cannot be correct as Essex is too far away!!!
This one's really bugging me - it must be "one", but can anybody please put me out of my misery and explain why?

Money(bucks) minus m & y(borders)
