A couple of years ago I was put on meds for high BP, something I was oblivious to.

Earlier this year I was advised to not take my BP meds as my BP was low.

Since then I haven't been taking them and have had further episodes of low BP.

Today I haven't been feeling quite right, checked my BP and it was significantly higher than it has been over the past few months.

What affects BP to such an extent? I've tried Dr Google but not come up with much.

Stress?
Mine certainly was at 25 I was on BP medication as soon as I sorted out my stress issues I was 'normal' again.
you might have seen this already, but it does list some possibilities

Depending on just how significant the changes are, it sounds like a suitable case for investigation
"Earlier this year I was advised to not take my BP meds as my BP was low. "
Can you remember what your BP was recording and did you have any symptoms e.g dizziness?

"Since then I haven't been taking them and have had further episodes of low BP. "
Again.....what were the readings and did you have any symptoms?

"Today I haven't been feeling quite right, checked my BP and it was significantly higher than it has been over the past few months. "
What were the readings?
I am not sure of your question, but by far, the commonest cause of low BP is taking too big a dose of BP lowering tablets, although there are many other less commoner causes.
I think that is what you are saking, but not sure.
I would have thought that your blood pressure could go up if you don't feel quite right - suffering a virus say.
Ah! I think that I have got it......you are asking why has your BP gone up recently.
Again in your case, despite what has gone on in the past, or what was said, you are not taking your BP tablets and you should be.
You suggest that you monitor your own BP.

There are a whole host of factors that may affect the readings.

Here are just a few:-

Over the next few days, I suggest you take some readings, make a note of them and then discuss these with your GP/Clinician.

My BP since coming off high BP meds has been around 130/85. It dips to 85/60 and has been lower just can't recall the figures.

Today I have felt dizzy, shaky and a bit out of it. BP was 144/90, heart rate 118. I have frequent bouts of tachycardia so a higher than usual HR doesn't bother me.

Thank you for the links I will take a look and make an appt with GP to look at reintroducing meds. I was taking a mix of three and am not confident to pick and choose without guidance. Roll on next cardio appt!
Hope you feel better soon - do you want me to come over and look after you (after all my cooking can't be any worse than yours)!!!!
"I was taking a mix of three and am not confident to pick and choose without guidance"

That was quite a lot to come off straight away and that may answer your question.

It was on hospital advice Sqad. And apart from the occasional drops in BP I have felt fine.

The point of my post was too try and understand how BP can vary so wildly.

Jog on Islay! You'll try to poison me with macaroni cheese and chips!

Thanks Islay but I have enough on my chin, don't want them spreading further afield!
