If I change address do I have to return my car's V5 to the DVLA for amendment ?

I would have said "Yes" Eddie. If you get caught speeding by a camera the address on the V5 is where they will send the notification to, since it's the car they have caught speeding.

yes, section 6 of the V5C, says, "new keeper or change of address" - more dodgy advice from Eddie above by the sound of it!
