..........I know AB'ers constantly have a "See how far this goes" topic, but have we done one about "who remembers" topics? I should think we have. What about posting your own memory? I'll start with; Who remembers Timothy Birdsall, the brilliant topical cartoonist who used to appear on TW3?. Very funny with his topical cartoons. Sadly, he died very young of leukemia. The memory doesn't have to be a person. Just something you specifically remember. Go on! Have a go!

Not a popular pass time now, I know, but remember the brands of cigarettes?

20 packets of Kensitas cigarettes had an extra "4 for your friends" included, Wild Woodbines, Passing Cloud, Craven A, Black Cats, Player's Weights, Du Maurier, Sobranie Black Russian.

Then after the war, we owed America so much that we had to curb our spending with them, so instead of buying Virginian tobacco, we bought in Turkish tobacco and these brands became available, Player's Grand Turk and Pasha Cigarettes.

Packets of imps and horlicks tablets sweets we would buy on the way home from school. Those clear plastic rain hats that concertinad when we had to fold them up to take to school when it stopped raining.

Vinyl records. I know they are coming back a bit now. I got rid of my record player some years ago, but kept my vinyls. I had a look at them the other day and found I had some I'd forgotten about. I must get a player.
Spangles have been mentioned, Teacup. I used to love those.
A punch and judy show on Clacton beach and having my photo taken on Clacton pier with a huge python draped roumd my neck.
Photo booths on sea fronts and piers. They're all for identical passport style pics now. It used to be fun to go in with your pal and have daft photos taken.

The bloke in Compact went on to the dizzy heights of Crossroads, if my fuddled memory is correct.
Fruit flavoured Spangles great, Old English flavour were yeuk.
CloverJo, my Mum took me to the doctors because the only thing I'd drink was dandelion and burdock! He said as long as I was drinking something it was fine! I doubt the dentist would have agreed. However, at 63, my teeth are fine:-)
