For anyone interested the UK Grid Watch site I have mentioned a few times now has a new site for French electrical generation status
http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/
http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/france/
It is interesting to compare the two and see how much more electricity France is producing from Nuclear plants.

Eddie...I use this site, as I find the larger print easier to read :::

Interesting to see that coal has crept up to 2.1 % !

^ Yes i noticed that. There must be a shortage of 'Biomass' as coal is now only allowed to be used if there is shortage of Biomass. I assume it is due to the unseasonable cold snap we are seeing at the moment which has pushed demand above the forecast for the time of year.
It is at least better than the usual way of coping with a sudden increase in demand which is to fire up OCGT units. (open cycle gas turbine ) These are quick to start , they can go from 'cold' to full power in under an hour but are inefficient and produce a lot of CO 2

Thanks for your link by the way it is clearer than mine.
I've heard there is a new source coming on line soon, its known as RHAS, or Remainiac Hot Air Surplus, a major new contributor apparently!
Lol 3T. It is a major contributory factor in Global warming, air pollution, and corrosive acid precipitation though. :))
