they won't do well surely?
Labour that is.. this seems all too rushed.
no contest, if I was Jezza I'd not support it and force Tezza to engineer a VNC in herself! In reality though I think he will support it. Mikey's favourite site is predicting 112 con majority: http://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/homepage.html
Labour has said that they will vote for the Election.
election has to follow, everyone seems to be in favour
Mrs May appears to have done the mother of all u-turns :::::

Turkeys voting for Christmas eh?
Mrs May has said this :::::

"Britain needed certainty, stability and strong leadership following the EU referendum"

It appears this is just cynical move on her part. Her predecessor brought in the Fixed Term Parliaments Act, precisely to give that certainty that Mrs May says she wants.

But she has that already, as the Tories won the 2015 GE.

Liar, Liar, pants on fire Mrs May !

maybe. will that give labour the edge though? or maybe a Lib-Dem party campaigning on a remain platform will catch a popular theme?
Mush....there is no "remain platform" lleft....that was decided by the Referendum last summer.
It could backfire of course. In her address she made the election sound like a second referendum on Brexit.
Tories hoping their approval rating means more seats, Labour not wishing to be seen supporting a Tory government stay in power. The GE is as close to a sure thing as you can hope for. Just have to hope a party worth supporting fields a candidate in the constituency. Or there is an independent who seems worth selecting. Yeah I know, wishful thinking, but one has to be optimistic.
I do wish the Limp Dums would grow a bit of backbone.
Jezza, Tezza, Limp Dums! Why can't posters on this site type out the names properly. Too lazy or too thick?
I rather think they'll have no option.

To do otherwise will show them up to the electorate for the 'political chancers and game-players' many already believe them to be.
Could there be a possibility that she will stand down as Prime Minister due to the future possible pressures of taking us out of Europe and maybe the outbreak of a WW3?
Question Author
AOG, there is no WW3 just the USA finally standing up to Fat Boy and as for the pressures of Brexit, she is calling this to put a stop to the sniping from Labour and the Liberals. And, if she wins, she has the mandate they all accuse her of not having. (Although she does of course).

Ah, good old name calling from Maggie along with absolutely no contribution to the OP. Worried already are we?

Looks like corbyn's run away from the fight again. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of opposition, which is a shame considering his job title.
Tomorrow’s debate on the motion allowing Theresa May to call an early election will just last 90 minutes, according to parliamentary sources. Assuming there are no statements or urgent questions it will start after PMQs at 12.30pm and MPs will vote at 2pm.
