Cheap Hotel/b & B Needed Pls!

I'm doing a 4 day course in Russell Square, London at end of April and due to times of day etc etc it makes more sense for me to stay up there rather than do the dreaded commute every day which would take up to 1.5 hrs each way. So I need a cheap hotel room/B & B as close as possible or at least within walking distance. I know I live just outside London but I don't know this particular area that well. Tons of stuff comes up on Google but so expensive so far. If anybody happens to know a little place they have heard of I'd be grateful x

Yes but i can't be doing with shared bathrooms due to having IBS. My biggest fear would be not being able to get into the bathroom as it was being used.

The Hotel Russell is nice but i think out of your price bracket. Suggest that all the hotels along that strip are not that cheap. There is a Premier Inn on Euston Road, don't know the prices but its worth a look. Its only a shortish walk from there to Russell Square.

There is a YMCA not far from Russell square, sounds stupid of me but aren't they just for blokes or perhaps they mixed now. see if i can find you a number for them.

plenty of universities in the area, right near Russell Square, definitely worth a look.

If you can look for Argyle square, just off Euston Road, there are lots of small hotels which might meet your needs. Can't think of any names, sorry.

Thanks everyone - most helpful. Don't think a hostel would be suitable lol and I did try the universities but all booked up apart from odd night. Will try the local hotels suggested xx

Emmie - you obviously don't know the area that well as the Russell is closed for total refurbishment at the moment!

Smowy....I have used this place many times, when attending at Covent Garden, although not for about 10 years. Its very centrally situated, just across the road from the British Museum,and close to the tube station. Only 10 mins walk from the West End :::

Sorry Smowy....I have just seen that this place is now rather expensive....£157 a night ..... I used to pay about £35 !
