I was in hairdressers this morning and sitting in waiting area for my turn. On sofa opposite was a woman and two kids - boy aged about 8 and girl about 9. Both looked bored stiff and were wandering about , fiddling with the magazines etc . This woman suddenly snapped and shouted, or screamed is more apt - "Will you two stop f@cking about and sit the f@ck down!!". Everyone turned to look at her but she just didn't care. When the girl started whining that she wanted to go home she carried on" will you stop f@cking moaning and sit down! I'm sick of the f@cking sight of the pair of you!!" By the time I left she was glaring at them as if she hated them and still mouthing off, and left me wondering why do some people even have children?? If it wasn't for the fact that it wasn't my business and I'd have probably got a slap I was tempted to say something. Probably wise that I didn't! Felt really sorry for the kids when I left.

The worrying thing for me is that for every foul mouthed mother/father that swears in front of their kids, that is a whole generation of children who are going to grow up and think it is OK to use that kind of language in public. That is the sad thing.
What a potty mouthed slapper. Slobess, gutter dweller, and C3 unemployable. Avoid like plague.
Well said 237SJ. That is my worry too. Those children will not know any difference. That is normal behaviour to them.
Also Mamya I agree with you that distraction is a powerful weapon. I don't know if I would have the nerve to do it in that situation though.
A bit late coming into this thread but I once had reason to speak to a mother about the language and aggressive behaviour of her 8 or 9 year old son. She turn to him, slapped him twice across his head and yelled, You little f@@@ing b@gg@r, I'll f@@@ing kill you when get home. She then looked at me for approval at her acknowledgement of her son's behaviour.

///the language and aggressive behaviour of her 8 or 9 year old son///

Surely you mean her behaviour not her sons?
She wasn't the sort to have an argument with, built like a brick outside facility.

Whoosh!!
I've never used words as have been described. Honestly, I promise that the only time was when my abusive husband unleashed a diatribe at me I said one of them, considered it and decided it was demeaning. I would most certainly never use bad language in front of my children. An 'O.... (space for brain to kick in) for goodness' sake ' was my standard.

So then these children go into school and use this language and get sent home etc. etc... education interrupted...all down to horribly bad parenting.

No, Islay, there is no, repeat 'no' excuse for using bad language before children. The first time I have really understood the divergence in our views. No excuse.
If I mucked about when I was little id get a well deserved slap, this isn't allowed these days
Smowball.....I think you need to move sweet cheeks.
Kids of parents like this are doomed from birth. They don't have a hope. Very sad.
