Definitely no left luggage at Dieppe station. In fact there seems to be no such facility anywhere in this town. I got the impression that 'foot' travellers on the ferry were not catered to at all.
I asked at the Tourist Office, (closes for lunch!) and a very helpful assistant phoned a local restaurant asking if they would keep my case for an hour or so while I explored the area, on condition that I ate there later. Food was fine and staff very obliging.
Also, just in passing, be aware that cabs are few and far between and the walk from the centre to the ferry terminal is pretty miserable. Pavements either run out or are broken, or are covered in grass, not great for hauling a case. I liked Dieppe but it didn't like me.

But - you survived. :-)
Disappointing in parts but glad you made the best of it.
I get the impression that Dieppe is no longer the bustling port it once was. This is no doubt due in no small measure to the direct Eurostar services from central London to central Paris via Calais.

Survived, and on the whole enjoyed myself very much. I shouldn't complain. I know I am very lucky being able to travel as much as I do.
Dieppe was pretty busy - a great market on the Saturday when I was there - and restaurants were all packed, car parks crowded, people down at the shore, etc, but I think it definitely helps if you are a car visitor rather than a foot visitor.
very few stations in france have left luggage facilities (only those listed here)
