What Is It Like In Kalkan Now?

We used to visit Kalkan on the southern coast of Turkey twice a year prior to 2012 and enjoyed the experience very much, but haven't been since then.
My wife is nervous to go again because of the fighting in neighbouring Syria and problems between the Kurds and Turks.
Can anyone give us an idea how things are in Kalkan at the moment and if our fears are justified? I'm sure that the economy must have suffered and the local shops and restaurants may not be doing well. This could affect the wonderful relaxed atmosphere of the area.
I would really like to pay another visit provided it is safe.
So do any members have useful information to offer?
