Oh dear, crossed wires after a message from a family member it seems.

Not sure what else to add.
Ta, hc - the BBC only reported it as they'd been told, it seems.

So I guess fingers crossed, though "critically ill" obviously isn't good & my thoughts are with his family nonetheless.

So it's not just Channel 4 News who make big errors.
Well done BBC, after all you sacked him and now this unforgivable mistake about his death. Shame on you.
presumably the headlines will now read "Brian Matthews undead"?

OOPS !! bit premature although such news is soon to be expected ..sad though..love his voice and miss his sounds of the 60 s.....
