Blue Passports Coming Back....

I hated the red ones, and bought a black copy cover to go inside, for me and the rest of the Family.

The blue ones just seem to have a bit of class about them.

no I am pretty sure I have my immigration law up to date
it changes alot and is gonna change again on Brexit

I think this all started on 1st April.....where's the reported 1/2 billion cost coming from?
The old passport was indeed the Rolls Royce of passports - for a reason - it was designed for the top maybe 1% of the population that travelled abroad , people who knew what the Blue Train was..if the FO had thought for one moment that the Great Unwashed would all have them they would have been cheap and nasty like all the others. For most countries the EU passport was a huge improvement.

Passports don't always get inspected. I went to France using my bearded brothers passport!
All the family had gone to Disney world earlier in the year. I didn't know our passports had got muddled up.
No one looked at my passport going in to France.
Coming back into England my passport was checked. I had a problem. They asked for my passport, I said you have it there, no we haven't and showed me the passport, it was my brothers. They didn't really want to believe no one had looked at my passport when we left but really they had no choice. After a lot of argy bargy and many phone calls they let me through. I soon got my real one back. Brother thought it was a hoot.

All very confusing. I don't understand the connection between the colour of a passport and national pride.

And I also don't understand why it matters to some.

someone in the seventies had pasted the picture of their Dulux dog into their passport and used it ....

Mine has always been scrutinised TBH.
oh with the blue ones they didnt bother on exit as people were going anyway - - - on the way back it was different
as some blueys didnt have right of residence

Oh thos were the day of the Nationality Act 1962-1973 !

yeah coming in is MUCH more important that going out

when we went to Quimper ( france actually ) we secreted a south African passport in a pile on going out on Friday and my god we wished we hadnt on Sunday night
and we were in the Common market by that time

As I stated earlier, I am pleased for those who await the return of the Blue Passport - it obviously matters greatly to them.

Does seem rather costly but then so much is these days.
