I have just washed and dried in the dryer a pair of polyester velvet trousers of my daughter's ( amongst other clothes ) and when I was folding them after drying they are full of crackling static electricity. Does anyone know how to get rid of it ? Apart form plugging them in the wall LOL.

Can't help with the question but my initial reaction on reading your post was "ooooo, polyester velvet trousers!!!"

(sorry!)
put them in a bag in the fridge for half an hour !
I suggest you damped your hands and run them over the garment lightly. You could get some dryer sheets to add to the machine in the future or just hang dry them as they won't take long on a line or hanger.

Thanks , I will tell daughter about the fridge, and Hang them to dry next time. Actually Boo, they are lovely trousers from Zara, although I appreciate the description sounds a bit iffy.
