Have You Ever Had An Interest That You Were (Internally) Forced To Like/get Into?

An interest (music, movies, TV, toys, Youtube videos, etc) that you have no idea why you felt interested in? but couldn't dislike it? Maybe something you felt uneasy/negative about at first, but then ended up liking because you couldn't dislike it despite having those uneasy/negative feelings.

Whether those uneasy feelings came from feeling embarrased/scared to like it because it'll lead to verbal assault, or because you knew it'll lead to physical assault, or knew that this interest was wrong/sexist/racist/etc. but still like it for some reason, or simply just hated it at first, but couldn't resis carrying on that hate because you were starting to feel more comfortable with it.

Divebuddy, It's Bieber! But that already proved how unusual/not normal it is for a straight male to like him (even though it's only a few songs for me).

Kvalidir, This is how the scenario goes for you to understand how it happens: 1) The bully throws the teasing/insults for liking such things as a straight adult male. 2) The victim ignores or tells them top stop with the insults. 3) The bully gets angry for the victim doing that because the bully feels disrespected, so he delivers the physical assaults!

The victim can be the oldest person you ever know, but if he doesn't know how to survive in a fist fight (or doesn't know how to deal folks with weapons), he's gonna assaulted for liking such things.

I like him ( well his later stuff 2015-16) but have never been beaten up for it. So the issue here is bullying. If it wasn't for liking Justin Beiber it would be for something else- the way you dress, your hair, your voice... Report it/tackle it

woofgang, Throughout the danger of being physically assaulted, I thankfully haven't got into much of it. But that's only because I did not ignored well nor say "*** Off!!" to the folks (specifically those who went to the same school as me) that has repeateadly gotten my name wrong on purpose, and/or insult my voice/look/seriousness because it all resembles the "geek/nerd/loser" image, as oppose to the image that those folks around my age. The fact that I did not fit in with them in terms of activities, interests, and expenses like a drivers license/car/jobs/etc. didn't helped me (even though I never intentionally tried to to fit in).
