The above has taken over what was my AB tab on my android phone. It's telling me...in no uncertain terms...that my phone is infected and that I MUST download an app to KILL the virus. If I hit the back button, I get another similar notice...and more. Each more lurid and shouty than the first. My phone will be locked in 24hrs if I do not comply....
Now I know this is a scam...but how do I get rid of it? If I close the tab, then try to use the Internet via the icon...all this rubbish appears again.
This has only happened when I've been logged into AB.

Not yet! Will keep you posted.
It only seems to happen when you touch the screen to scroll, not when you are simply reading.

Perhaps there is some sort of invisible advert that activates when touched?
Also the web address is not visible. The bit about Facebook appears at the top, but not in we address form.
... web address...

The page at www.vendrars.uk says

Hitting the back button I get...

Perhaps that will help Ed investigate further.

Haha! Well...it conjures up all sorts of images.
This is the problem with "Real Time Bidding" for adverts, it's a whack-a-mole game

@ 20:19, is it really a good idea to put a 'live' link to a potential virus on the thread, someone's bound to take a look at it?

I found AB had become unusable on my Android mobile, as it constantly got redirected as Pasta describes. I use Chrome, so tried downloading Firefox onto the phone. However there was no let up in the redirection.

I then downloaded a browser called Brave which has built in adblocking (sorry Ed, but needs must).

Lo and behold I can now use AB uninterrupted, so the problem must be coming via the advertising stream.
My tablet which is no slouch when browsing, basicaly comes to a standstill, but only on AB. Since the site layout was changed around, I have had no end of my tablet 'freezing' and keypad lag. I have more or less give up trying .. have just downloaded the Brave browser for a last ditch attempt, lo and behold it has started flying again ... Cheers Hopkirk
Yes, it's quick isn't it?
